Palazzo Pretorio, restaurant, pizzeria – Giovanni Santarpia – San Donato in Poggio – Chianti – Tuscany

31 Jul

Palazzo Pretorio Restaurant and pizzeria is located in a seventeen century building in San Donato in Poggio, a nice #medieval village, in the Chianti region, between #Florence and #Siena.

The reason why we have decided to suggest it, it’s because of the faboulous pizza we have eaten here. For sure, one of the best pizza in #Tuscany.

The restaurant offers tipical Tuscany dishes, such as the #bistecca alla fiorentina, and also good fresh fish proposals, but the pizza made by Giovanni Santarpia is very special, let’s say excellent, and we love to recommend it.

The Giovanni’s pizzas are prepared in the traditional napoletana way, with a double leavening mixture, for a soft and digestible pizza with a perfect cooking.

The pizza condiment is made with very fresh and high quality #mozzarella and #tomato, and in addition to the traditional pizza, there are also some innovative but very tasteful proposals, such as “tomato, zucchine and pesto”, or “pumpkin and bacon”.

Try also the dessert, you will enjoy them.

If you go there in summertime, the restaurant offers the possibility to stay on a panoramic terrace, that is perfect to enjoy the fantastic pizza and the fresh air of the Chianti hills.

In summertime and during the weekend we suggest you to reserve.
