It is not by chance if Florence is now one of the fashion capital of the world.

Indeed, the Italian fashion was born in Florence on the  12 of February 1951, when Giovanni Battista Giorgini organised  at Villa Torrigiani, in via de’ Serragli in Florence, a presentation to five american buyers the creations of some important italian’s stylists: Carosa, Fabiani, Marucelli, Simonetta, Noberasko, Fontana, Veneziani, Shuberth, Emilio Pucci and Gallotti.

The italian fashion started, and after Villa Torrigiani, the Grand Hotel of Florence hosted the presentation, before moving to the legendary Sala Bianca in Palazzo Pitti.

Now Pitti Uomo, hosted at the Fortezza da Basso, is the most important men’s fashion exhibition in the world, and every years there are two editions, for the summer and the winter collections, in January and June.
